Transitions Collaboration

2017
A "found object" collaboration project with six artists from across Copenhagen, Canada, Texas, Paris, Switzerland and India.

The work explores the yolk of communication, the space when two people reach out and establish contact and dialogue. What is the essence of this dialogue as people from different cultures and geographies interact? Though one is coloured by the region of their origin, there is a space where  differences  dissolve and connections are made at a humane level. A space where one sheds their skin, prejudices, and  conditioning to the bare bones. The central x-ray box bears the words TOUCH & RØRE (danish for touch) representing the sensation of touch recreated in this collaboration through words. Hands reach out to each other, as words bridge the gap between them. Three geographies are represented India, North America and Denmark - the boundaries traversed within the collaboration.
